Raquel Medrano, LPC-IT Therapist/Terapeuta Bilingue – Catholic Charities
Raquel is a bilingual (Spanish) behavioral health therapist at Catholic Charities with an in-training professional counseling license. She received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish and her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a trauma focus in the Counselor Education Program at the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater. Raquel provides accessible, culturally competent, and high quality therapy to individuals, couples, and families between the ages of 7-60+. She has experience providing therapy to individuals with various mental health concerns including; general life stressors, family and social challenges, crisis intervention, mood disorders, trauma, conduct disorders, disordered eating, and psychotic disorders.
Raquel is currently working with clients of low income and homelessness through Catholic Charities and their partnership with the Salvation Army of Sheboygan. She uses a cognitive behavioral therapy approach along with other treatment modalities to accommodate the needs of each individual. Mindfulness, Meditation, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) are a few interventions frequently used in session as a means of coping with life stressors and managing symptoms of mental health diagnoses. She is excited to begin working collaboratively with staff, students, and parents at Sabish Middle School!
